About Club17 Curaçao

Sustainability in action. Not in promotion.
Club17 is an independent platform where partners work together to turn the Sustainable Development Goals into real action on Curaçao.

One shared vision for Curaçao

By 2035, Curaçao is the safest, most resilient and sustainable island
in the Caribbean, where everyone feels welcome and at home.

This vision gives direction to all collaboration within Club17.

The SDGs: our shared compass

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals help turn global ambitions into practical action on Curaçao.
They give partners a shared language to work together and connect local ideas to knowledge and experience from around the world.

What we do

Club17 Curaçao brings partners together to move from ideas to action.

Partners meet
to share knowledge, connect expertise and start joint projects.

Partners work together
continuously through projects and working groups.

Partners contribute
with knowledge to the Club17 partner platform.

This is how shared ambition turns into visible impact on Curaçao.

Club17 Curaçao is a cross-sector network.
Businesses, government and NGOs work together to turn sustainability goals into real action on the island.

How we work

A clear method. One shared direction.

Vision Development
Partners align on goals and priorities.

Baseline
We map what is already happening on Curaçao.

Integrated Action Plan
We spot gaps and opportunities, then shape joint projects.

Execution & Monitoring
Partners led projects. Club17 follows progress and shares results.

Independent governance model

Built for trust. Designed to stay independent.

Club17 Curaçao has a governance model that is rare internationally.
It prevents one party or sector from steering the agenda.

  • Independent foundation
  • Council of Advice with equal voices (NGO’s, businesses and government are all represented)
  • The next generation has a seat at the table: the Council of 17 (students) formally advises the Council of Advice
  • Strong role for co-creation and transparency, using the SDGs as a shared framework

This model is recognized and shared as an example of effective cross-sector collaboration in practice for a sustainable future of Curaçao.

Meet the people behind Club17 Curaçao

How we started

Club17 Curaçao began with the Water Refill Program, a collaboration to reduce single-use plastic on the island.
What started as one initiative grew into a broader network.
Today, Club17 is a locally anchored foundation built on shared ownership and collaboration.
