Why this matters?

  • Health benefits: Obesity among children and the elderly is a major concern in Curaçao. Your support enables us to encourage healthier habits by promoting water consumption. Our specially designed thermos bottles keep water cold, making it more appealing for people to stay hydrated and choose water over sugary drinks.
  • Environmental impact: Each reusable bottle you help provide saves approximately 156 single-use plastic bottles per year. By distributing these bottles, we significantly reduce plastic waste and protect the natural beauty and ecosystems of our island.
  • Sustainability: The profits from the sales of these reusable bottles are reinvested into various projects aimed at climate protection and social welfare, starting with those who need it most. This approach allows us to generate resources to address other challenges on the island and develop sustainable solutions.

Motivation of the winner of the Design Contest

The design represents sustainability, safety, inclusivity, resilience and the love for Curaçao.

I illustrate these as follow:

  • Sustainability: Illustrating windmill, recycle trash bin, awareness on the sign boards, air purification by Aloe Vera’s.
  • Safety: In this design I show that Curaçao cares about safety of his people. The ‘walking sign’, meaning that it is safe to walk in this area.
  • Inclusivity: I wanted to symbolize inclusivity with an airplane, meaning that Curaçao welcomes everybody, no matter who you are; where you are from.
  • Resilience: I chose Aloe Vera plant to symbolize resilience. It is a plant that grows everywhere here in Curaçao; it will remain alive even in and after the hottest period of the year.
  • Love for Curaçao: Ilustrating the sign board with ‘I ❤️ Curaçao’, and the Curaçao flag bench.
