Curaçao Island of Learning is a digital learning ecosystem that helps people of all ages discover new skills, explore opportunities, and build their personal and professional growth through accessible activities, workshops, and badges. The platform brings together learning providers, community organizations, and individuals to create a modern, inclusive learning environment across the island. It offers more than 130 activities that range from technology and computers to creativity, personal development, job readiness, and sustainable skills.

The initiative is part of the international Cities of Learning network and integrates Open Badges, allowing participants to earn digital credentials that showcase their skills and learning achievements. This approach promotes lifelong learning and helps learners demonstrate competencies gained through formal, informal, and non-formal education.

Curaçao Island of Learning strengthens entrepreneurship, digital skills, and career readiness through events, hands-on workshops, and collaboration with partners such as the Curaçao Innovation and Technology Institute (CITI). A recent week‑long learning event brought together participants from Curaçao and Europe to exchange knowledge, experience digital tools, and explore new opportunities for adult learners.

The platform supports the island’s vision for accessible education and personal development, contributing directly to SDG 4 Quality Education, SDG 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 10 Reduced Inequalities by opening learning opportunities for everyone, including adults with fewer resources.
