Algae Island is committed to developing innovative and sustainable technologies for the production of spirulina and other algae-based products on Curaçao. With year-round sunlight and stable temperatures, the island offers ideal conditions for algae farming.

Spirulina is one of the most sustainable sources of protein. It requires significantly less water than conventional farming methods and actively absorbs CO₂ during cultivation. Its health benefits are well documented, making it a powerful tool for promoting better nutrition and a healthier lifestyle.
The first goal of Algae Island is to introduce spirulina to the local community.

Looking ahead, Algae Island aims to export spirulina products and share knowledge about algae farming. This vision contributes to economic diversification and strengthens Curaçao’s position as a hub for sustainable innovation.
