Avila Herb Garden

The Avila Herb Garden began in 2023 and has been growing steadily ever since. Located at the Avila Beach Hotel, this small but meaningful initiative adds fresh flavor to the island’s culinary scene while promoting sustainability and education.
In 2024, a hydroponics system was introduced, allowing herbs and plants to grow without potting soil. This method uses water and nutrients efficiently, making it ideal for Curaçao’s climate and limited natural resources.

The garden is more than just a source of fresh ingredients. It serves as an educational space for hotel guests and locals, offering a closer look at sustainable food production. It’s a place where people can learn, taste, and connect with nature.

The Avila Herb Garden contributes to the SDGs by promoting eco-friendly farming, sharing knowledge, and reducing the environmental footprint of food sourcing.
