Stichting Samen Doen: Giving goods a second Life for a stronger community

Stichting Samen Doen supports children, families, and individuals across Curaçao who face financial pressure or urgent social circumstances. Through the sale and redistribution of donated items, the foundation offers practical help to anyone with a social indication or immediate need. This community effort connects directly to broader goals such as SDG 1 No Poverty, SDG 10 Reduced Inequalities, and SDG 12 Responsible Consumption and Production.

The organization collects and resells a wide range of items, including children’s books, magazines, clothing, fantasy jewelry, watches, trinkets, CDs, LPs, and toys. The shop is located at Industrieterrein Brievengat, in the first blue warehouse on the right after the gate.

Funds raised from donated goods help provide essentials such as winter clothing for families traveling unexpectedly to the Netherlands, clothing and household items for mothers who must leave their homes. These contributions directly support children, who remain a central focus of the foundation’s mission.

Stichting Samen Doen kindly asks donors to check the condition of items before dropping them off. Goods should be clean and usable so they can be passed on responsibly. Items that are damaged or dirty must unfortunately be discarded, which takes time and resources away from helping the community. Donors are encouraged to ask themselves whether they would still use the item themselves before donating it.

Every contribution helps create opportunities for others. Stichting Samen Doen expresses heartfelt gratitude to everyone who donates, because this work is only possible through the support of the community.
