TUI accelerates electric mobility with new smart charging stations in Curaçao

Curaçao is taking an important step toward cleaner transportation. TUI Dutch Caribbean, together with Dynaf and Last Mile Solutions, has begun installing 55 smart charging stations across the ABC Islands. The first charging station in Curaçao was officially opened at the TUI headquarters on Schottegatweg, marking the start of a large regional e-mobility project.

The station at TUI’s office provides charging for visitors and supports the electricity needs of TUI’s first electric pool car, now used by employees for work-related travel. This installation is part of a broader plan: 30 charging stations on Curaçao, 15 on Aruba, and 10 on Bonaire.

According to TUI and Dynaf, a reliable charging network is essential to help residents and visitors switch to electric vehicles. The stations installed across the islands are equipped with smart technology from Last Mile Solutions, allowing them to use local renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power. This reduces emissions and supports a greener, more resilient energy system.

The project is financed through TUI’s Fair Travel program, where each Fair Travel booking donates €2 from the traveler and €2 from TUI to invest in local sustainability projects, including renewable energy and electric mobility infrastructure.

This initiative contributes directly to:

  • SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy
  • SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
  • SDG 13: Climate Action

With more charging stations being installed at locations such as Avila Beach Hotel, Papagayo Beach Resort, Chogogo Dive & Beach Resort, and public parking areas, Curaçao is steadily building an accessible electric charging network that benefits both residents and visitors.

The expansion of this smart charging infrastructure signals a strong move toward sustainable transport and helps reduce the environmental impact of mobility on the island.
