Club17 reduces single-use plastic by promoting refillable bottles

Our first project is the Club17 Curaçao Water Refill Program. This initiative reduces single-use plastic by promoting refillable bottles and refill stations across the island. Visitors can enjoy Curaçao’s high-quality tap water — healthy, refreshing and a true taste of the island. The bottle is designed by a local artist Deidre Polonius, making it both a sustainable choice and a meaningful souvenir.

From 2026, the bottles will be available for purchase. Their sales will provide Club17 Curaçao with its own income stream, making the foundation less dependent on external funding and more self-sustaining in the long run.

What we do
Tourists or residents purchase a refillable stainless steel water bottle from a local business, foundation, museum, or other organization in this city or country. They scan the QR code on the bottle to find Refill locations. This allows them to easily locate the nearest (public) Refill point and avoid purchasing (single use packaged) water.
